Knowing whether and when you are called to marry involves discerning with A PARTICULAR PERSON. That means if you feel called to marriage, you need to actually get to know potential spouses, spend time with them, pray about them, and then make a decision.
Don’t let a desire for being settled, for having children, etc.
– stop you from going through this full process, or
– cause you to accept the first ‘proposal’ you get, or
– prevent you from ending it if you’re not at peace.
Reminder: There’s nothing wrong with wanting children, a settled life, companionship, sex, etc. Just don’t let those desires cause you to treat a potential spouse as a means to an end. There will be times in marriage when you won’t get any of those things, but you’re still called to love your spouse and live out God’s call for your marriage.
